Air Charity Network members also coordinate flights to fly organ transplant candidates, people involved in clinical trials, chemotherapy or other repetitive treatment, victims of abuse seeking relocation, families receiving help from Ronald McDonald Houses, Shriners Hospitals and many other charities, disabled or sick children to special summer camp programs, and for many other humanitarian reasons.

Mercy Medical Angels (Website)
MMA administers charitable or deep-discount airline ticket programs for patients and patient escorts in cooperation with the major U.S. airlines. Ambulatory outpatient travel in excess of 750 miles necessitates the use of airline resources. Special circumstances can make the use of these programs for even shorter distances advisable. MMA flight coordinators are highly experienced in these diverse and often changing airline patient ticket programs.
Mercy Medical also offers GROUND TRANSPORTATION. MMA’s Angel Wheels™ program includes transport by the provision of commercial bus or Amtrak tickets, or the provision of gas cards if a friend can drive or an automobile is available or transport can be provided by a volunteer long-distance driver.

Flights for adult patients (age 18 and up) are provided for the patient and caregiver, if medically necessary. Applications should be submitted a recommended 14 days prior to departure.
Southwest Airlines Medical Transportation Program (Website)
Through the Southwest Airlines Medical Transportation Grant Program (MTGP) we provide complimentary, roundtrip tickets to nonprofit hospitals and medical transportation organizations. Southwest allows participating nonprofit hospitals and medical transportation nonprofit organizations the freedom to determine how to distribute the tickets to patients and/or caregivers.
We’re proud to partner with nonprofit hospitals and organizations in our 2015 Medical Transportation Grant Program. Each hospital has its own guidelines for administration of these tickets, so please contact the Social Work, Travel/Concierge Service, or Patient Assistance Department directly from one of the links to see if you qualify for travel assistance.
