We had an incredible event last night at Upstairs on Trinity for the Undiagnosed: Medical Refugees Documentary. We thank everyone who came out to support us and made the evening memorable!

We started off the night with an introduction from our Director of Communications, Vanessa Garcia, who shared the mission of U.R. Our Hope and why this event and this documentary are so important.  Later in the evening, Vanessa and our Director of Community Relations, Kailee Johnson shared their diagnostic journeys with those in attendance.  We also showed the trailer for the Undiagnosed Documentary.

Our diverse musical lineup started off with Kathryn Legendre, who graced the stage with her beautiful voice. Her classic country performance was truly amazing.

Kathryn has an album and new single available for purchase, which you can find on her website.

GidZillah hit the stage with a stripped hip-hop acoustic performance which was full of energy.  The song “Rest in Peace” was poignant for the evening as we constantly remember the children we’ve lost to Undiagnosed diseases.  They ignite our passion to change the landscape for families still struggling to find a diagnosis. GidZillah’s performance was inspiring and uplifting.

And finally, rounding out the lineup was LesRAV with her soulful voice and amazingly talented piano performance.  LesRAV shared with us her own personal connection to the Undiagnosed Community as her family struggled to find a diagnosis when she was 8 years old. For 3 years, she was misdiagnosed until they finally learned she had Crohn’s Disease. We were so fortunate to have her perform for us and share her story.

We send our sincere gratitude and appreciation to all of these talented musicians who donated their time perform for this event.  Please support their music as thanks for their generous contributions to our organization.

The night would not have been complete without the fantastic donations to our silent auction!

Thank you to Chris Rogers who painted LIVE during the event and then donated his pieces to the silent auction.  Watching him paint and seeing the canvas transform was absolutely awesome! Check out the pieces he completed.

Steven Snow of Greaseman Photography donated two of his incredible photos to the auction.

Trent Rickman also donated a beautiful original piece to the auction and drove in from out of town to support the event.

Other silent auction donors included:

– WebDesign services from Eric Bullet
– Dinner for 2 from Z’Tejas
– InspirePro Season Pass
– $200 Gift Card to Academy from Premium Pump Parts
– Karaoke Party from Karaoke Underground

And last, but certainly not least, a HUGE thank you to Morgan Davis of Ovrld for helping us to secure the venue and making sure things ran smoothly throughout the evening.  And of course, Joseph Vaughan (DJ Versus) and Heavy kept the music and the party going all night long.

U.R. Our Hope thanks each and every person who helped to make this event a success. We are so appreciative of all the hard work put into this evening.
Thank you all for supporting the Undiagnosed and Rare Community!
